Add External Learning Tool (LTI)

What is this service?

Use this service to set up a new external learning tool (LTI) or add an existing one to your course.  

EXISTING LTIs can be requested by Faculty to be added to their course.  

  • Cengage, Films On Demand, Goodheart Wilcox, LibGuides Manual Tool (LibApps), MyOpenMath, and Willolabs.  

NEW LTIs MUST be requested by an Academic Chair, an HECVAT is required to be attached to the request and can be obtained from the Publisher.  

  • DO NOT commit to using an LTI in a course until it has been approved, integrated AND tested in Brightspace. You will receive confirmation from an Analyst once the integration is working successfully.  

Note: With some LTI integrations it can take a significant amount of time to configure them to work properly. If the vendor does not have any Brightspace customers with a working integration, there’s no guarantee the integration will work with Brightspace.  

All changes to Brightspace tools / functionality changes are required to follow NSCC’s Change Management Process and will not be implemented immediately.
