What is this service?

Request remote access to NSCC's services and resources. 

Request for Remote Access for Individual

  • Request access to NSCC network resources from home or another off-campus location for a single user.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be an active employee
  • Must have an active computer account and employee ID
  • Use this service to request access to applications such as Microsoft Project, Visio, and NSCC applications such as PeopleSoft.

Note: Access to network file shares is not valid reason for remote access.

Request for VPN Access

  • Use this service to request Virtual Private Network access

Request for Remote Access for a Department or Classroom

  • Staff can request remote access to NSCC resources for a  department from home or another off-campus location.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be an active employee or faculty member
  • Must have an active computer account and user ID

 

Responsibilities:

It is expected that all remote access use will be done so in accordance to NSCC computer usage and security polices. All computing devices connecting remotely will be in compliance with NSCC security polices.

Do not give out your account information or leave remote sessions unattended. If you suspect suspicious activity with remote access please notify Technology Service Desk immediately. Technology Service Desk monitors all remote activity for unauthorized access.

If you're unable to connect remotely please contact Technology Service Desk.

All requests for remote access will be reviewed by Technology Service Desk management.

Who can request this service?

  • Faculty
  • Staff
  • If you are a student who believes they need remote access to NSCC, please contact your faculty member.  They must submit the request on your behalf.
