Faculty needing teaching access to live course shells in Brightspace:
Academic Chairs please use the following request to reach the Scheduling team: https://servicedesk.nscc.ca/TDClient/1770/Portal/Requests/ServiceDet?ID=40001

Requestors must either own the course they are requesting access to or if you are requesting access to another faculty’s course, you must add their details so they can give their approval.

An AC may provide permission in the following scenarios:
- course owner is no longer employed by NSCC
- request is for a master shell containing content that has been developed for NSCC

An AC cannot provide permission in the following scenarios:
- course owner is on vacation
- course owner is on leave

Self-Directed Courses:
The Self-Directed Courses widget allows users to search for active courses and self-enroll into them.

Submit this request to:

  • Create a new Self-Directed course.
  • Extend the end date of an existing Self-Discover course.

To support ongoing content maintenance, all Self-Directed courses must have an end date. Course owners are responsible for reviewing their course content annually and requesting an extension if the course should remain available beyond its end date.
