Troubleshooting Delayed Send

This feature only works if your Outlook client is setup in Online Mode, vs Cached Mode

Most of our computer are initially setup in Cached Mode to provide a smoother email experience, but you can switch yourself into Online Mode in under a minute.

If you attempt to use Delayed Send and see the following message when you close Outlook, you are in Cached Mode.

If you wish to use the Delayed Send feature you must change Outlook into Online Mode.

To check what mode Outlook is in:

At the bottom right of your Outlook client, you will see either:

“Connected to: Microsoft Exchange” indicates you are in Cached Mode.
- Delayed Send will not work.

Or

“Online with: Microsoft Exchange” indicates you are in Online Mode.
- Delayed Send will work.

To turn Outlook Cached Mode on or off:

1. In Outlook, Click File > Account Settings > Account Settings.

2. Click the Exchange or Office 365 account, and then click Change.

3. Under Offline Settings, check Use Cached Exchange Mode.

4. Exit, and then restart Outlook.
