What is this?
The following article will guide you on restoring external displays, when you connect your laptop to dock / USB-C hub monitor, but the displays and USB ports connected to monitors and dock are still not working.
Instructions
Please follow the instructions step-by-steps.
Step 1 and 2 can resolve issue for most of users, step 3 and 4 for intermediate step.
1. Restart Dock / USB-C Hub monitor Power Cycle
Unplug and re-plug the power plug from the docking station. It usually does a good job resetting power cycle.

2. Restart Computer
When computer has not been turned off over several days, there is a high chance that graphic memory needs space, simply restarting computer can resolve the issue.

3. Check display settings
(1) From bottom-left search bar, type "dup" and select Duplicate or extend to a connected display

(2) From display settings, check that you have one or more tiny rectangular shape with grayed number. This means the monitor is connected but it is disabled from the computer settings after power outage at office / home.


4. Dell Firmware Update
After getting a new Windows Update, it may installed a driver that can cause conflict, or new drivers are installed but require restart computer.
(1) From the Search bar, type "update" and click Check for updates

(2) From Windows Update, if you see Dell, Inc. – Firmware – x.x.xx.xx click Install.
If you do not see the available Dell firmware update, click Advanced options.

(3) Click Optional updates.

(4) Click Driver updates, and look for Dell, Inc. - Firmware - x.x.xx.x, check it and click Download and install.

(5) Once the update downloads firmware, click restart now to restart the computer.
