How to create / set Calendar (Events) on SharePoint
Instructions
- From Home, the top right corner of your SharePoint site, click Edit.
- If you move your mouse cursor to the very top, between, or in very bottom of the columns, you can add new objects (Web part). Click the ----(+)---- icon where you like to place the calendar.
- Scroll down find Events or type Events and select.
- Type the name of calendar you want to give on Title and click Republish for adding calendar on the Main page.
- Now, you should be able to see the calendar from the main page of your SharePoint site, but events are not added.
- Go to Site contents, and you will see the Events file. This is the calendar file you have created in. Move your cursor to the Events, then the three dot icon (Show actions) will appear. Click the icon and click Settings.
- From the Event > Settings, you can add the Events file you created on the side for easier access. First, copy the address from the Web Address, and click EDIT LINKS from the left side.
- Click (+) Link icon, type the name of calendar you want to give in Text to display, paste the web address in Address, and press OK. Make sure to click Save on the left side menu.
- If you click the calendar you have linked to the left side menu, you will be able see and edit the calendar.
- From the top left corner, select CALENDAR.
- Click the date you would like to add event and click Add.
- Set the title of event, time or other details and Save the event. If you want to add event as whole day (ex) vacation), select All Day Event, and Save.
- Now, the event you added will appear from both the main page and your SharePoint Calendar.
- From EVENTS or CALENDAR, click the name of the event you want to remove.
- Select Delete Item and select OK.
3. Now, the created event will be removed from both the main page and your SharePoint Calendar.
