How to Add or Change a Non-NSCC Email for your Account for SSPR
What is Self-Service Password Reset [SSPR]?
Self-Service Password Reset [SSPR] gives you the ability to change or reset your password, with no administrator or help desk involvement. If your account is locked or you forget your password, you can follow prompts to unblock yourself and get back to work.
NOTE: This email is only for self service password reset, it is not used for MFA when logging into supported services.
Accessing the Security Info Portal
To add or modify a factor, you will need to log into the Security Info Portal. Visit the Microsoft Shortened address https://aka.ms/mysecurityinfo or follow these instructions:
- Visit https://www.office.com
- Click “Sign in” in the upper right corner
- Enter your wNumber@campus.nscc.ca and click the “Next” button
- You will be prompted for your username and password – please enter your wNumber@campus.nscc.ca as the username and your NSCC account password and click the “OK” button
- You will be brought to the Microsoft Office Home portal
- Click your account profile picture I the upper right corner of the page
- Click “View Account” from the menu
- On the Account page, click “UPDATE INFO” in the Security Info section
Adding a Non-NSCC Email to your Account
NOTE: This email is only for self service password reset, it is not used for MFA when logging into supported services.
- Click the “Add method” link next to the "+" symbol
- Choose "Email" from the dropdown menu and click the "Add" button
- Enter the non-NSCC email address you would like to have associated. It is important to use a non-NSCC email so that if you are unable to access your NSCC provded one you can still login or reset your password. A test message will be sent to this email, “Next” once done
- Enter the code from the Email in the field provided and click the “Next” button to continue
- Once registered, a notification will appear in the upper right corner. You have now added a non-NSCC email address associated with your MFA.
Changing your Associated Non-NSCC Email Address
NOTE: This email is only for self service password reset, it is not used for MFA when logging into supported services.
- Click the “Change” link next to the Email option listed
- Enter the non-NSCC email address you would like to have associated. It is important to use a non-NSCC email so that if you are unable to access your NSCC provded one you can still login or reset your password. A test message will be sent to this email, “Next” once done
- Enter the code from the Email in the field provided and click the “Next” button to continue
- Once registered, a notification will appear in the upper right corner. You have now changed the non-NSCC email address associated with your MFA.
