To get started with SharePoint, click the Create Site link from the SharePoint hub.

There are two kinds of SharePoint sites:

  • Communication Sites are used for communicating with an audience (usually public within NSCC) in much the same way a blog would be used. A small number of people would create pages and articles for the Communication Site. A News post can be created from the Communication site itself or from the SharePoint hub.
  • Team Sites are used for collaborating on documents, files and ideas. These sites are private to the members of the team. The creator of the site is the owner and can invite other owners and members. All members can contribute content.

NOTE: All SharePoint Team Sites are set to expire one year after creation. One month prior, the site owner(s) will be notified with a one-click option to Renew the Site for another year.

ALSO NOTE: You are required to have at least two (2) site owners for every SharePoint site. This reduces the risk of accidental expiry/deletion.
