Sync Files with OneDrive

A quick look at OneDrive for Business. This KB article will tell you what the icons mean and show you how to take your files on the road.

 

What is this?

OneDrive with Files on Demand

With the new OneDrive client there is a feature called Files on Demand which allows you store file(s)/folder(s) locally on your PC so you can take them with you where you have no network connectivity.    Ex Plane or cottage

 

Instructions

There are 3 icons that you need to become familiar with and what they mean. Please see below.

 

A look at the icons that you will see in your File Explorer

 

To Enable Always Available Files follow the steps below.

1. Click File Explorer at the bottom of the screen
2. On the left hand side choose OneDrive – Nova Scotia Community College
3. Browse to your file(s)/Folder(s) that you would like to download to your PC and right click on it
4. Choose Always keep on this device
5. Once you are done with the files locally you can right click on the file(s)/Folder(s) and click Always keep on this device and it will remove the check and the files that are stored locally.
