Setup gets stuck on the "Setting up your device for work" screen

After logging in on the "Welcome to Nova Scotia Community College" screen during setup, your device will automatically work through some setup steps. During this setup, you will see this screen:

Setting up your device for work screen. Listing the steps: Device Preparation, Device Setup, and Account Setup

Automated setup can take up to 20 minutes to complete fully. In some cases, the device may get stuck during the first "Device Preparation" screen. You can click on Show Details to expand the list for more information.

Details under the Device Preparation heading showing each step it is trying to complete

If your device gets stuck on the "Preparing your device for mobile management (Working on it...)" step for more than 20 minutes, you can hold down the power button to turn off the machine. You may be prompted to confirm the shutdown by pressing an OK button, or swiping the screen downwards, depending on your device.

Allow the device to shut off completely so that all lights turn off and the fans stop spinning and become quiet. Leave the machine off for 30 seconds, and then power it back on. The Device Preparation step will show as complete and setup will continue as outlined in this article.
