What is this?
Microsoft has a new pre-join experience that makes it easier for you to configure your environment before entering a Teams meeting.
The updated pre-join screen offers easier discovery for video/audio and device selection configurations for the meeting. Most importantly, users will now be able to select their background filter before they enter a Teams meeting.
Instructions
Turn on the new experience
Make sure you have the latest update available to you.
1) Click on your profile picture in the upper right hand corner of Teams and then select Check for Updates.
After you update your teams, you need to turn on the new meeting experience. You do this via a checkbox in Teams Settings. Here’s how:
- Select your profile pic at the top of the Teams app, then Settings > General.
- Select Turn on new meeting experience.
- Restart Teams
Now the next time you join a scheduled meeting. NOTE: you will not see this for 1-to-1 video calls or group chats that you turn into a video call. This only works for Scheduled meetings.
You can:
- Join a meeting muted.
- Select your microphone/speakers
- Turn on/off your webcam
- and access and select your background images,
