Attend a Live Event in Teams

What is this?

Teams live events is an extension of Teams meetings, enabling hosts and presenters to broadcast video and content to a large online audience. Live events are meant for one-to-many communications where the host of the event is leading the interactions and audience participation is primarily to view the content shared by host and other pre-selected presenters. There is an optional moderated Q & A where attendees can ask questions and provide comments.

Here is how to get connected on both mobile devices and desktop or laptop computers.

Instructions

For Desktop or Laptop devices

1. Open the live event link from your Outlook invitation or from a link provided on a website.

  • The link will open up your default web browser, Choose 'Open Microsoft Teams' when prompted.

2. If you have Microsoft Teams open and running, The Live Event player will open up. If you are early, you will get the below notice. You might be asked to login to Teams using your NSCC credentials. The Live Event will start at the scheduled time.
